John is an attorney by profession and artist by passion. His motto is, "Why wait til retirement?" He grew up on ‘Oahu and has called Hawai'i Island home for over a decade. Shortly after starting his own estate planning law practice, John started acrylic painting. What started as a hobby has bloomed into a passion.
Along with being inspired by the golden shores of the Kohala coast and sweeping views of Waimea, John paints to inspire joy. Whether it’s through the motifs of a favorite vacation, memory, or a breathtaking view. His style commonly bridges the themes of landscape, quilt, play, and portraiture. John enjoys bringing joy to life in commissioned paintings.
His artistic process usually starts with a person and is sparked by a conversation about what delights them. Commissioned paintings can be based off of photographs, places, or concepts. Each painting is one-of-a-kind and is based on what touches the intended owner. John works with acrylic on canvas and customizes each piece for the client’s taste and space.
